Betty Bonicard Kraft

Betty Bonicard Kraft passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 91. She was born on Thursday, December 14, 1933 in Ponchatoula, Louisiana to the late Sarah Louise Ryan and the late Yeve Ellsworth Bonicard. She was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Betty was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School and Ponchatoula High School, and she was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed singing at weddings and Midnight Mass and was a member of Westward Ho and Triangle T Sportsmen. Betty was an avid gardener and raised strawberries alongside husband. Her hobbies were cross stitch, sewing, traveling, and cooking holiday meals. Most of all, Betty enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, supporting them in their sports teams and academic endeavors.

Betty is survived by her children, John J. Kraft III(Shane), Glynis K. Haik(John), and Jeffrey E. Kraft(Robin); grandchildren, John "Jake" Kraft IV(Madelyn), Jebediah "Jeb" Kraft(Lauren), Kathryn "Ryan" Haik, Elizabeth "Reagan" Haik, Clarissa "Keegan" Haik, John "Logan" Haik, Brittani K. Emmons(Steve), and Mallory K. Quebedeaux(Lucas); great-grandchildren, Sawyer Sesser, John Jacob Kraft V, Sonny Ellis Kraft, Finn Emmons, Chandler Emmons, Ace Emmons, and Crew Emmons; sister, Valerie Bonicard Carpenter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty is also preceded in death by her husband, John J. Kraft, Jr.; brother, Yeve Ellsworth Bonicard, Jr.; father-in-law & mother-in-law, John J. Kraft, Sr. and Eva Arceneaux Kraft Ryan; brothers-in-law, Larry J. Carpenter, Charles E. "Dago" Kraft, James W. "Slippery" Ryan, Jr., Alvin C. "Punkin" Ryan; and sister-in-law, Veronica "Ronnie" Ryan Souza.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Saturday, December 13, 2025 beginning at 8:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 10:00 AM.

Interment will follow in Wetmore Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
