Betty Jean Bodi Gill

Betty Jean Bodi Gill, age 84, of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away at her home on Friday, November 27, 2020. Betty was born on December 10, 1935, in Albany, Louisiana one of five children of Hungarian immigrants. She was a graduate of Albany High School and a member of the Hungarian Presbyterian Church in Albany and also attended Bethlehem Baptist Church in Albany for many years. Betty was an avid participant in the Annual Hungarian Harvest Dance and proud to be part of the Hungarian community for many years.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Norman Gill, Jr., parents, John and Mary Varga Bodi, and 4 siblings.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Katherine Martens and husband Gordon, son, Stan Gill and partner Clark, and son Roger Gill and wife Laura. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, Drs. Jennifer Holden Alleyn and husband Jaime, Dayne Gill Commander and husband Gary, Spenser Martens and wife Rebecca, Chasen Gill, and Mary Martens and fiance Justin; and 5 great grandchildren, Cambre, Brock, Norah, Camille, and Vivian.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Modern Hospice and especially to Kayla who took such good care of our beloved mother.

Services were held privately.
