Betty Faye Simpson

Betty Faye Simpson passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021, in Loranger, Louisiana, at the age of 92.  She was born on Thursday, June 6, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Eithal Allen Ware and the late Elias Batten.  She was a resident of Loranger, Louisiana. Betty had many interests, such as reading and studying the bible. She taught many generations of children through Loranger United Methodist Church Sunday School. She was a talented artist, and loved to cook. Betty would feed anyone who stopped by to visit. Most of all, she loved being surrounded by her family and friends.

Betty is survived by her children, Linda Barnett (Charles), Patty Champlin (Clifford), Gilbert Simpson (Joy), Paul Simpson (Elaine), and Angela Byrd (Jimmy); grandchildren, Gia Whittington, Christopher Champlin, Jeremy Champlin, Benjamin Simpson, Bethany Reisch, Aaron Simpson, Samuel Simpson, Adam Simpson, Phillip Simpson, Claire McFarland, and Tycer McFarland; and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her first husband, Jerome Dupueis; second husband, Thomas Simpson; and her sons, James Dupueis, Peter "Allen" Dupueis, and Jerome "Peter" John Dupueis, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKnely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Saturday, August 28, 2021, beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.

Interment will follow in Loranger Community Cemetery, Loranger, Louisiana.
