Betty DePriest, age 82 of Hammond, Louisiana passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Monday, October 5, 2020. Betty was born on September 21, 1938, in America, Illinois.

Betty was a devoted Christian and long time member of Natalbany Baptist Church where she served in many capacities. She was also a very dedicated member of New Beulah Baptist Church. Betty was a faithful prayer warrior and spent much time praying for and with her family and others in the community. Betty was known for her sweet nature and strong sense of family that held us together even in difficult times.

Betty is survived by Allie DePriest, her loving husband of 64 years with whom she raised 5 children. Four daughters and a daughter-in-law. Sherrie Jacobsen and husband Rickie Fred of Clarkston, MI, Kimberly DePriest, Tamara DePriest, Staci Culbertson and husband Robert all of Hammond, La, Tracey DePriest of Albany, La. Betty was a caring aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

Betty was affectionately known as "Granny" to her 8 grandchildren whom she adored. Jason Jacobsen & Melissa, Dane DePriest & Jessica, Wesley DePriest & Jordan, Sean Scott & Danielle, Hannah Scott, Simon Alleman & Trista Sanders, Emily Matherne & Heather, Sydney Richard & Eric.

Betty was so proud of her 14 great-grandchildren Beau, Jessica, Mackenzie Katherine, Allison, William, Finley, Dean, Kirby, John, Jackson, Ethan, Madelyn & Mason.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved son, Larry DePriest. Her parents, William Raymond & Alma Hall, mother-in-law & father-in-law Virginia Albin & Dewey DePriest. Her sisters, Constance Childers and Sandra Allen and brother Jackie L. Hall.

A Graveside Service for Family and Friends will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 10:00 am at New Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, 44641 S. Baptist Rd, Hammond, Louisiana 70403.

Interment will follow in New Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.

Face masks are now mandatory to attend any visitation or service at the funeral home. Thank you for your cooperation.
