Betty Jean Willie Prevost Blount

Betty Jean Willie Prevost Blount, of Loranger, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the age of 76. She was born on October 23, 1948, in Independence, Louisiana, the third of eight siblings. Betty was a lifelong resident of Robert, Louisiana. She retired from North Oaks Medical center after 30 plus years of service. Betty will be remembered by many for her loud, jolly personality and her quick, witty humor. 

Betty is survived by her three sons, Ellis Prevost (Amy), Donald Prevost (Karyn), and Peyton Prevost (Sarah); grandchildren, Christina Galle (Evan), Breanna Smith (Zack), Gracie Prevost, Michael Prevost, Zachary "Moochie” Prevost (Kylee), Tyler Prevost, Analeigh Prevost, Macy Payne, Jolene Relan, and Ryker Jacobsen; great grandchildren, Paisley, Aurora, Davey, Daughtry, and Hadlee; brother, Harvey "Pinkie" Willie Jr. (Joyce); sisters, Irma Vinterella (Nick) and Karen Phares; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Sr. and Mildred Cooper Willie; first husband, Clarence Prevost; grandson, Hunter Prevost; second husband, Elton Blount; and siblings, Patsy Clark, Joyce Bailey, Mary Armand, and Joseph Willie Sr.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am with a Funeral Service at 11:00 am, with Michael Matthews officiating.

Interment will follow at Willie Cemetery in Folsom, Louisiana.
