Bertha Bergeron Ourso

Bertha Bergeron Ourso passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, surrounded by her family in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 93.  She was born on Monday, October 15, 1928 in Donner, Louisiana to the late Mabel Guillot Bergeron and the late Paul Felix Bergeron.  She was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Bertha is survived by her children, Stephen Ourso(Nan), Vincent Ourso, Jr.(Susan), Susan Greco(Joe), and Elizabeth Schrick; grandchildren, Amy Ourso, Ashley Greco, Brandon Greco, Samantha Greco Burns, Joseph Greco, Jr., Megan Ourso, Madison Ourso, and Courtney Ourso Tregre; great-grandchildren, Harrison Bickerstaff and Leah Greco; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Bertha is also preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Ourso, Sr.; grandson, Christopher V. Ourso; and siblings, Pansy Bergeron, Shirley Petitto, Pearl "Boogie" Berner, and twins, Harold and Carroll Bergeron.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Monday, December 6, 2021, beginning at 8:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 10:00 AM.

Interment will follow in Ponchatoula Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Bertha's name.
