Bernice W. Perkins

Our mom, Bernice W. Perkins, age 91, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023. She was born to the late William and Audrey Walker, April 22, 1932 in Ponchatoula. 

She graduated from Ponchatoula High School and Southeastern Beauty College. Following her graduation, she operated her own hair salon and cosmetic business. Her hobbies included sewing, painting, jewelry design and fishing with her husband. 

Bernice loved her family dearly and leaves behind so many beautiful memories. She was a wonderful mother, a lovely person and is deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David I. Perkins, her sisters Celeste Brunner, Delores Renfro and her brother William “Sonny” Walker. 

She is survived by her sister Joanna Parker, her children, Marion, Michael and Cindy Fannaly. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Thursday, November 9, 2023, beginning at 10:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 12:00 PM. 

Interment will follow in Ponchatoula Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
