Benjamin T. Nolan "Captain Black"
Benjamin peacefully passed away at his home on November 11, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was a dedicated and loyal employee with Wood Resources, LLC for over 40 years as a Tug Boat Captain and loved every moment of being on the river. Benjamin was a proud veteran who served in the US Army and was also a passionate deer hunter. He enjoyed barbequing at home, traveling with his family and taking daring motorcycle trips with his friends down the Tail of the Dragon. But most of all he never missed a chance to dance with the love of his life, Patricia, and spending time with his family making lasting memories they will cherish forever. Benjamin loved his family immensely and he made sure everyone knew it! He was a loving husband, wonderful father and brother, caring grandfather and great-grandfather and loyal friend to all who knew him and is already missed so much.
Benjamin became an angel for his beloved wife of 36 years, Patricia Guerra Nolan; son, David Guerra Nolan; grandchildren, Ashton Graham Guerra, Cody Hill, Seth Guerra; 1 great-granddaughter; God mother, Marguerite Demolle; God daughter, Sherri Kelly (Daryl); siblings, Bob Nolan Sr. (Denise), Josh Nolan, Jannet Countryman (Wayne), Donna Colna (Jimmy), Delores Buford; his furbabies, Angel Nolan and Prissy Nolan; as well as a host of family, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Isabell Duplessis Nolan and Herman Fisher Nolan Jr.; siblings, Charlotte Nolan, Lois Nolan Billiot, Lloyd Nolan "Brother".
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Homes and Crematory.
