Benjamin G. "Ben" Aucoin

Benjamin G. Aucoin ("Ben"), passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, at the age of 35.  A resident of New Orleans, he was born on September 25, 1988, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Matt and Shaan Aucoin. Ben lived life on his terms. He loved books, corny jokes, witty puns, quirky movies, and philosophizing about and debating the absurdities and conundrums of life. Ben had his struggles and fought demons we could not understand, but through it all he was kind and had a huge heart. His journey was long, and it was much too short.

Ben is survived by his loving parents and sister, Blakely Cervantes (Santi). We loved him fiercely. That love is following him to where we have to believe he has found peace. Ben also leaves behind grandparents, Mary and Ron Harris, and Diane Hodge, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended relatives to mourn his passing. He was predeceased by grandparents, Lionel and Veronica Aucoin, and Wayne Hodge.

Relatives and friends are invited to a brief graveside blessing on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 10:30 am at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, 908 Western Avenue, Hammond, Louisiana. We will be "Remembering Ben" with a casual gathering immediately following at 1411 University Drive in Hammond. If you knew Ben, loved him, laughed with him, prayed for him, or showed him kindness and compassion on his journey, we thank you, and would love to see you.
