Barbara Ann Owens

Barbara Ann Owens was born in Hammond, LA, October 8, 1945 to the late Victor and Barbara Bigner Stein. She passed away at her residence in Albany, LA June 10, 2026. Barbara was a longtime member of New Beulah Baptist Church in Baptist who loved camping, birdwatching while sitting on her porch, vacationing and traveling. She had a special place in her heart for her two cats, Tina and Turner. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Max Owens, who has servied as Justice of the Peace in Albany for the past 48 years; great grandson, Rinauldo “RayRay” Munoz; and numerous nieces and nephews including a special nephew Ricky Jordan and his wife Anna; brother in law, Paul Owens, sister in law, Lillie Williams; and special friends Amy and Chris Peoples, their daughter Leanne, and Jarrod and Darlene Bankston. Barbara is preceded in death by her son, Mark Calvin Owens; daughter, Michelle Barbara Owens; grandson, Ryan Owens; sisters, Lillian Barnes and Anna Joseph, brothers, J.W. Jordan, Huey Jordan, H.P. Jordan and Edward Jordan; brothers in law, Leroy Owens, Don Owens, Rodney Owens, and Richard Owens. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 North Morrison Boulevard, Hammond from 12:00 p.m. until funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Holly Gardens Cemetery, Hammond.
