Barbara Creel Meyers, of Loranger, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born on February 6, 1947, in Amite, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Rev. Bobby Creel and Lillie Doris Cox Creel. Barbara's life was defined by her love for her family, her unwavering commitment to the Lord and her passion for music. She played the organ and piano for every church she was a part of, enriching countless services with her musical talents. Her music was not merely a skill; it was an expression of her faith and an offering to God. Barbara was currently a member Creekside Baptist Church. In addition to her musical contributions, Barbara was a devoted Christian who carried a profound wish for everyone to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
She graduated from Hammond High School in 1965 and will be remembered for more than two decades of dedicated service in various roles of the business office of St. Tammany Parish Hospital prior to retirement. After retirement, in addition to being a doting grandmother, her days were filled with her passion for arts and crafts and was the official family greeting card designer for all occasions. Family historian and friend to all, she seemingly never met a stranger.
Barbara exemplified the virtues of love, kindness, and compassion, striving to share her faith through her words and actions. No one loved like she loved.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Penny Thomas (Dane) and Trudy LeBeau (David); son-in-law, Chris Williams; grandchildren, Brittany Ricks (Johnny), Jessica Speed (Cliff), Kaitlin Gauthreaux (Paul), Lucien Williams, and Keaton Williams; great grandchildren, John Patrick III, Juliana, Clifton III, Anna, Brailey, and Hudson; sister, Marilyn Creel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her former spouse, J.W. "Dub" Meyers Jr.; granddaughter, Tiffany Thomas; brothers, William "Bill" Creel, Robert Earl Creel, and James Murphy Creel.
Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 12:00 pm until the Funeral Service begins at 2:00 pm with Dr. Mark Long officiating.
