Barbara "Bobby" Fischer Fletcher

Barbara “Bobby” Fischer Fletcher, born January 16, 1936, went to her eternal home on January 14, 2026, surrounded in love by her family.

Bobby had a true servant’s heart, and it showed in everything she did. She was a strong pillar in her family and showed her strength with grace and humility, never wavering in caring for others, even when her body was weak. “Love without measure” signifies a boundless, unconditional, and limitless love, accepting flaws, prioritizing others’ needs, and expecting nothing in return. It’s a selfless, expansive love, like God’s love. To know Bobby was to know love in its purest form. Bobby showed us all what love looked like.

Bobby leaves behind her husband and forever love, Gene Fletcher Sr., to whom she was married for 60 years; her children, whom she loved fiercely: Buddy Robertson (Debbie), Dale Robertson (Sherry), Mark Fletcher, Gene Fletcher Jr. (Dixie), and Jo Lynn Scott (Kelly); son-in-law, Roy Bankston (Veronica); sister, Mary Morgan; grandchildren, Bryan Robertson (Kristin), Melissa Tasaka (Wayne), Hope Taylor (Matt), Heather Costanza (Tony), Roy Bankston Jr., Dru Robertson (Stacey), Laura Robertson, Tyler Fletcher (Sarah), Kyle Fletcher (Kaitlyn), Trevor Fletcher, Lacey Fletcher, Hannah Fletcher (Jerica), Gene Fletcher III (Claudia), Hallie Laine (Eddie), and Madison Scott; great-grandchildren: Kody Robertson, Bryson Robertson, Taylor Tasaka, Kiana Tasaka, Kayne Tasaka, Harley Smith, Laine Taylor, MaKaila Taylor, Destin Costanza, Gracee Nettles, Morgan Watson, Megan Brown, Emma Nan Bankston, Kailin Robertson, Makayla Moore, Landon Fletcher, Luna Blue Fletcher, Kase Fletcher, Kip Fletcher, Karter Jane Fletcher, Charli Fletcher, Easton Fletcher, and Eddie Laine III, and great-great-grandchildren: Harper, Riley, Ava, Rhett, Easton, and Josie.

She is preceded by her parents, George and Irene Fischer; son, Mike Fletcher; daughter, Nan Bankston; and siblings, George Fischer, Joseph Fischer, Roy Fischer, Gene Fischer, and Ruby Hill.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home -Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 9:00 am until the funeral service begins at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Collins Cemetery in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
