Aurelie Bernadette Costanza passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 89. She was born on Sunday, September 27, 1936 in Independence, Louisiana to the late Marie LeBlanc Costanza and the late Samuel Costanza, Sr. She was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana. Aurelie and her husband, Sonny, began their life together in California, where they started their family before returning home to Hammond to raise their six children. She was married to the love of her life and was a devoted mother whose family was the center of her world. A woman of creativity and passion, she proudly owned and operated her own doll shop--lovingly built for her by her husband and sons. Aurelie had a deep love for sewing and found joy in creating with her hands. Known for her many cherished collections, she surrounded herself with the things she loved, leaving behind a home filled with warmth, memories, and treasured keepsakes.
Aurelie is survived by her children, Susan Costanza Alfonso, Nicholas Costanza (Elisa), Timothy Costanza (Leslie), Trish Costanza LaMonica (Patrick), and Thomas Costanza (Lisa Ann); grandchildren, John Costanza, Amber Babin (Matthew), Andrea Dunn (Craig), Christopher Costanza (Rosie), Elisa Russell, Lauren Baham (Daryl), Clayton Costanza (Sarah), Sherry Castle, Daniel Costanza, Madison Costanza, Ash Vellier, and Colin Vellier; great-grandchildren, Kylie Costanza, Bailey Babin, Gracie Babin, Lanie Babin, Lena Dunn, Lawson Dunn, Ellie Dunn, Emma Herron, Juliana Costanza, Ashton Baham, Kaitlyn Baham, Brayden Baham, Karleigh Costanza, Haleigh Costanza, Ethan Costanza, and Josh Costanza; siblings, Ronald Costanza, Connie Triolo, and Tillie Monem; sisters-in-law, Theresa DiCarlo and Anna Saltaformaggio (Dominic); numerous nieces and nephews; former son-in-law, Johnnie Alfonso; and former daughters-in-law, Lou Toney and Tammy Muller, who remained cherished members of the family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Costanza, Sr.; mother, Marie LeBlanc Costanza; husband, Joseph Costanza, Sr.; son, Joseph Costanza, Jr.; brother, Samuel Costanza, Jr.; sister, Ann Williams; sister -in-law, Marie Perez; brothers-in-law, Rick Williams and Carlo Triolo; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Francis Costanza.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 600 North Oak Street, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the funeral mass begins at 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.
