Arlon L. "Buddy" Cox Jr.

Arlon L. "Buddy" Cox Jr., of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at the age of 71. He was born on February 12, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of the late Arlon L. Cox Sr. and Merle Shephard Cox. Buddy was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a longtime manager at Advantage Financial in Covington, and more recently worked for Ross Downing in Hammond.

Buddy is survived by his wife of 49 years, Susie Misita Cox; daughter, Krystal Cox; granddaughter, Alea Cox; brother, Kevin Cox and wife Sherrie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his son, Brian Roy Cox, and brother, Henry "H.L." Cox.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and staff of North Oaks Medical Center and PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Hammond for their attentive care.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Helena Catholic Church, 120 S. First St., Amite, Louisiana 70422 on Friday at 11:00 am, with Fr. Miles Walsh officiating.

Entombment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum in Hammond, Louisiana.
