Arlene Strahan Morgan

Arlene Strahan Morgan was born September 17, 1942, in Baton Rouge, and passed away April 16, 2025, in Hammond. She was a retired beautician, a member of Coburn Baptist Church, and a resident of Hammond. Arlene was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for everyone. She was a wonderful mom and grandma to everyone. She attended Southeastern University, taking horticulture classes where she learned to have a beautiful garden of her own, with tomatoes and roses, just to name a couple. Arlene is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, John Edward “Ed” Morgan; children, Kim Serpas, John Eric Morgan, and Douglas Wesley Morgan (Carrie); sister, Judy Miller (Robert); grandchildren, Ryan Serpas (Mandy), Morgan “MJ”” Serpas (Tracy), Sommer Vining (Marty), Kristopher Morgan, Kaitlyn Carrier (Ryan), Emily Morgan, Abigail Hoover, Mark Newman, Tristan-Jacob (TJ) Morgan (Ashley), Deanna Morgan (Cameron), Leighanna “Nichole” Morgan (Ben), Elizabeth Grandinetti (Johnathan), and Rebeca Bolkovac (Allan); 20 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Francis Ficklin Strahan; son, Wayne Morgan; daughter, Wanda Kay Morgan; brothers, Henry Strahan, Jr., Leroy Strahan, Wally “Bang” Strahan, and Bobby Strahan; and a sister, Doris Tuttle.  Visitation will be held at Morgan Family Cemetery, Morgan Road, Hammond, Monday, April 21, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until funeral services at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow.
