Anthony Peter Musacchia, Jr. passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 84. Â He was born on Tuesday, June 29, 1937 in Hammond, Louisiana to the late Angela Macaluso Musacchia and the late Anthony Peter Musacchia, Sr. Â He was a resident of Tickfaw, Louisiana.
Anthony was married to his loving, devoted, and beautiful wife, Marie of 61 years. Â Anthony and Marie enjoyed spending time together as they were both retired and living a wonderful life. Â They treasured their time with family, family vacations, monthly bus trips to the casino, dining out, and spending quite evenings at home together. Â
Anthony started work at the A & P Tea Company where he remained for 17 years, as well as working as a self-contractor and a bus driver for Tangipahoa Parish School System for 34 years. He enjoyed spending time with his children, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren. Anthony also loved gardening, doing tractor work on jobs with his son Anthony, and one of his greatest joys was riding on his tractor.  When the day was over, he would play a heated game of bourré with his family and friends.  Anthony was a wonderful husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather to his family.  He was a kind and compassionate person that would give the shirt off of his back to anyone without thinking twice. He was also the President of the Blessed Mother Society for 40 plus years, as well as Peter in the Last Supper for over 20 years at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Marie G. Musacchia; children, Donna M. Lamartiniere (Mike) and Anthony P. Musacchia III (Shannon); grandchildren, Michael W. Lamartiniere, Jr. (Danielle), Scott A. Lamartiniere, Hannah M. Moran (C.J.), Jude L. Musacchia, Tiffani M. Bonaccorso (Justin Rogers), and Briona E. Bonaccorso; great-grandchildren, Brycen J. Lamartiniere, Madelyn R. Lamartiniere, and Brinley G. Moran; and sister, Frances Musacchia Banks. Â He is also survived by numerous Nephews, Nieces, and God Children. Â
In addition to his parents, Anthony was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and John Governale.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Monday, August, 9, 2021, from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM. A funeral mass will be held immediately following the visitation at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, 14450 Hwy 442, Tickfaw, Louisiana 70466, at 11:00 AM. Â
Interment will follow in Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Cemetery, Tickfaw, Louisiana.
