Anthony "Buddy" Stephen Orlando

Anthony "Buddy" Stephen Orlando, of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at the age of 100. He was born on October 18, 1922, in Independence, Louisiana, the son of the late Salvadore "Sam" Orlando and Katherine LaMarca Orlando. Buddy was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII as a tank driver in the Normandy Theater.

Buddy is survived by his son, Dominic Orlando, Sr. (Elizabeth) of Loranger; daughter-in-law, Frances Giluso Orlando of Ponchatoula; grandchildren, Bud Orlando (Cathy), Ashley Orlando Turner, Aimeé Orlando Nethercutt, Dominic Orlando (Kristie), Doyle Orlando (Sky), and Kristin Orlando LeBlanc (Joey); great grandchildren, Brianna Orlando, Austin Orlando, Ashton Orlando, Joseph Turner, Jr., Ruby Nethercutt, Kyle Nethercutt, Owen Orlando, Mary Cinclare Orlando, Davey Orlando, E.V. LeBlanc, and Joey LeBlanc IV; step-great grandchildren, Trent Matthews and Megan Matthews; step-great great grandson, Taysom Matthews; sister-in-law, Margaret Ferrara Stabiler of Baton Rouge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his wife, Carmelite Ferrara Orlando; son, Salvadore Anthony Orlando, Sr.; infant granddaughter, Mary Orlando; sisters, Rosa Nicolosi, Annie Labruzzo, Jennie Ferrara, Mattie Farace, Angelina Wesley, Lucy Talbot, and Nancy Fontana; and infant brother, Nace Orlando.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Monday, December 12, 2022, for a Rosary at 4:30 pm and visitation from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, from 8:00 am until 10:30 am.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 620 3rd St., Independence, Louisiana 70443 on Tuesday at 11:00 am, with Fr. Reuben Dykes officiating.

Entombment will follow at Colonial Cemetery Mausoleum in Independence, Louisiana.
