Anthony Joseph "AJ" Pecoraro Jr.

Anthony Joseph "AJ" Pecoraro Jr., of Hammond, Louisiana, peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the age of 77. He was born on Tuesday, June 10, 1947, in Hammond, Louisiana, the son of the late Anthony Joseph Pecoraro Sr. and the late Felicie Brettillo Pecoraro.

AJ has finished his race and is in the presence of the Lord. He has received that welcome from Christ: "Well done, good and faithful servant; now enter into the Kingdom of God." And he is reunited with his mother and father - whom he loved dearly. 

AJ had a variety of interests that brought him joy. He loved going to the casinos and the plentiful buffets. Not just casino buffets, because he was a fan of all buffets, especially the meat selections. Fishing was also one of his favorite pastimes, allowing him to appreciate nature and unwind. AJ enjoyed bowling and participated in a league, showcasing his competitive spirit and love for the sport. In his quieter moments, he liked watching westerns, finding entertainment and comfort in the stories of the Old West. AJ was a parishioner and active member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church.

AJ is survived by his sister, Wanda Pecoraro Bursavich, brother-in-law, Joseph Jude Bursavich, nephew, Bradley Joseph Bursavich and his wife, Michelle Bursavich, niece, Lauren Mindy Bursavich Terrio and her husband, Steven Terrio, great nieces and nephews, Loralie, Carly, Michael, Isabella, Landon, Logan, Aunts Rose Pecoraro and Marie Vining and Uncle Aldin Vining and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Family and friends will be received at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 600 North Oak Street, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial starts at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana.
