Annzel Joseph Gaupp

Annzel Joseph Gaupp, age 66, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, in Hammond. He was born on Tuesday, May 18, 1954, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Horace Joseph, Sr. and Hattie Harriet Hartman Gaupp. Annzel loved building and construction, writing songs and poems, singing and practical jokes, but he especially loved spending time with his grandkids and family.

Annzel is survived by his daughters, Patsy Basso, Sandy Laird and her husband Allen and Paula Byrd, his grandchildren, Charles D. Basso, Jr. and his wife Kelsey Broussard, Jake Laird, Bradley Byrd and his wife Jessica, Lyndee Basso, DeLynn Basso, Katelynn Byrd, Joshua Byrd, Jeb Laird and Nathan Byrd, his great grandchildren, Adalynn Basso, Brycon Broussard, Winter Byrd and Allyson Byrd, his sister, Hattie Gaupp Nelms and her husband Lynn, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Annzel was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Joseph, Sr. and Hattie Harriet Hartman Gaupp, his wife Sherrell Marie Boutrin Gaupp, his son in law, Justin Byrd, his grandson, Chandler Byrd, his great grandson, Austin Byrd, his sister Tina Gaupp Harrington, and his brothers, Horace Joseph Gaupp, Jr. and his wife Eilene and Harrison Gaupp.

A Visitation for Annzel will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, A Funeral Service Celebrating Annzel's Life will immediately follow visitation at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Hammond.
