Annie Eloise Runnels Thompson

Annie Eloise Thompson went to be with Jesus on Sunday, July 2, 2023, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 90.  She was born on Thursday, January 19, 1933 in Magee, Mississippi to the late Ola Jones Runnels and the late Alonzo Runnels.  She was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.  Annie was a member of Ames BLVD Baptist Church in Marrero for over twenty years, where she worked in the community to help show the love of Jesus. In 2009, her family moved to Hammond, where she became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Annie is survived by her daughters, Theresa Thompson and Gail Laurent and her husband, Tim; grandchildren, Bonnie Laurent and Kevin Laurent; great-grandchildren, Hendrix Lacara Laurent and Kennedy Eloise Laurent; siblings, George Donald Runnels and his wife, Pat, Linda Brown and her husband, Ronnie, and Ann Welch.

In addition to her parents, Annie was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Thompson; siblings, Fred Runnels, Maurine Shows, Harold Runnels, Bonnie Patterson, and Charles Runnels; brother-in-law, Billy Welch.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 29350 S. Montpelier Road, Albany, Louisiana 70711, on Thursday, July 6, 2023, beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.  

Interment will be held at 3:00 PM in Goodwater Baptist Church Cemetery, Magee, Mississippi.
