Annie Laurie Oates Chatelain

Annie Laurie Oates Chatelain, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away at her home on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at the age of 96. She was born on November 23, 1926, in Roseland, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Walter Oates and Priscilla Ducote Oates.

Annie is survived by her daughter, Jane Chatelain; son, Kenneth Wayne Chatelain; grandchildren, Bridget Lowry Acosta and husband Todd, and Corey Chatelain; great grandchildren, Ian Christopher Acosta, Blair Anne Brewton, and Taylor Jordan Brewton; brother, James "Jimmy" Oates; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Paul Chatelain; step-son, Jerald Chatelain; grandchildren, Hollie Emfinger Brewton and T.J. Emfinger II Brewton; siblings, Henry Oates, Neelis Oates, Mary Oates Jacob, Julia Mae Oates, and Ellender Oates.
