Anita (Pat) Parrish, age 83, of Southlake, TX, formerly of Hammond, LA, entered the arms of her Lord & Savior on Sunday, February 11, 2018, surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with Parkinsonâs Disease. The youngest of 13 children, Pat was beloved by all and made a positive impact wherever she went.
Pat was born August 12, 1934, in Ponchatoula, LA, the youngest of 13 children. She was a member of the Ponchatoula High basketball team, and in her 20âs, worked in management for a defense contractor in New Orleans. She met her husband of 61 years, Ronald, in New Orleans at church, and over the years, they were active members of Arabi, LA Baptist, First Baptist of Deer Park TX, and Woodland Hills Baptist in Hammond, LA. Being a mom and âGrandmaâ were her greatest joys, and she was known for her hospitality, delicious cooking, kind, gentle spirit and unwavering faith in God.
She is survived by husband Ronald Parrish of Southlake, TX; son & daughter-in-law R. David and Karen Parrish of Southlake, TX; granddaughters, Lauren Parrish of Dallas, TX, Lindy Parrish of San Francisco, CA; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Anita Jones, and her six brothers and six sisters.
Family & friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Sons Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, LA, on Friday, February 16th 6:00 to 9:00 pm. On Saturday, February 17th at Woodland Park Baptist Church in Hammond, LA, there will be visitation from 9:00-11:00 am followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am and interment at Ponchatoula Cemetery.
