Andrew Joseph "Ragoo" Monistere

Andrew Joseph "Ragoo" Monistere, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the age of 59. He was born on Tuesday, June 14, 1964, in Hammond, Louisiana.

Andrew is survived by his son, Andrew Joseph Anthony "Tony" Monistere; parents, Ignatius "Nat" and Judy Monistere; step-sons, Christopher C. Poche, Nicholas R. Poche, Vincent T. Poche, Herbie Schaffer, Josh Schaffer, Thor Plumlee, Toby Plumlee, and Chae Plumlee; sisters, Natalie M. Ross and husband Bernie, Candy M. Sons and husband Shane; brothers, Keith G. Monistere and wife Inger, Randy J. Monistere and wife Breigh; god daughter, Cassie M. Sons; his baby, Zayda, also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia C. Monistere, brother, Ignatius "Mitch" Monistere, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Monistere and Mr. and Mrs. Alfaro Duplessis.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Sunday, April 14, 2024, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.  

A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday at 1:00 pm, with Reverend Dallas Stewart officiating.

Interment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Hammond and Ponchatoula.
