Amy Lamartiniere Owens

Amy Lamartiniere Owens passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 89. She was born on Saturday, October 31, 1936 in Marksville, Louisiana to the late Adele and Kermit Lamartiniere. She was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.

Above all, Amy loved God and diligently prayed her rosary every night at bedtime. She always loved traveling with her late husband, Gerald, and her favorite place to go was Branson, Missouri. Amy was still very active for her age, and enjoyed working in her flower beds pulling weeds. She made sure she never missed her hair appointments on Fridays.

Most of all, she enjoyed the holidays and spending time with her family. Amy leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family. Although she will be deeply missed, the memories made, the traditions shared and the love she gave will forever remain in the hearts of those she knew and loved.

Amy is survived by her children, Gerald Owens, Jr., Debbie Stewart (Glen), Wanda Bankston (David), Stacey Owens, and Jimmy Owens (Jennifer); grandchildren, Angela, Gerald III, Tyler, Brent, Alissa, Jennifer, West and Emily; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Corbin, Brady, Connor, Oliver, Elliott, Garrett, Meghan, Lainey, Eli, Timmy, Vicki and future great-grandchild Jamie; great-great-grandchildren, Henry, and future Benjamin, Willow, Whelen and Amelia; brother, Mark Lamartiniere; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Gerald, and siblings, Steven and James Lamartiniere and Margie Lachney.
