Amalia Riera Alvarez

Amalia Riera Alvarez  passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 84.  She was born on Friday, July 24, 1936 in Havana, Cuba to the late Carmen Rodriguez and the late Tomas Riera.  She was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.  Amalia dedicated her life to taking care of her son, Tommy.  She will be dearly missed by her family.

Amalia is survived by her husband, Jose Alvarez; sons, Tommy Alvarez and Joseph Alvarez (Teresa); and grandson, Hunter Alvarez.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tomas Riera; and her mother, Carmen Rodriguez.

Services for Amalia will be private.
