Alvis Adolph O'Brian, of Independence, Louisiana, passed away at Lakeview Regional Medical Center on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at the age of 86. He was born on Sunday, September 17, 1939 in Roseland, Louisiana.
He was a retired air conditioning/refrigeration technician. Alvis worked on and provided solutions to improve dairy chillers on many dairy farms.
Alvis is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Rhonda and Henry LaNata, daughter & son-in-law, Terri and Mitchell Rick, son & daughter-in-law, John and Darolyn O'Brian; grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew and Sarah Rick, Michelle and Jon Pittman, Julie and Cliff Brooke, Amanda and Joshua Mauck, Daniel and Nishann LaNata, grandchildren, Serenity O’Brian and Lawrence O’Brian; great-grandchildren, Samuel, Amelia, Lance, Isla, Jaidenn, Daxton, Landon, Connor, Riley, Waylon and Valentina; and sister, Imogene Ridgedell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Jones O'Brian; daughter, Susan Davis; parents, Johnnie O'Brian and Mattie Sandifer O'Brian; grandchildren, Mitch Rick and Alicia Davis; brothers, Johnnie O'Brian, Jr., J.W. O'Brian, Werlein O'Brian, Kenneth O'Brian, and Ray O'Brian.
A Graveside Service will be held at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 17045 Hwy 16, Amite, Louisiana 70422 on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 9:00 am.
