Alvin Edward Karter, Jr

Alvin Edward Karter, Jr., also known as "Canal Al" age 66 of Ponchatoula, passed away on Wednesday,June 19, 2019, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Mandeville. He was born on Tuesday, July 29, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Alvin Edward Karter, Sr. and Gloria Davis. 

Alvin is survived by his mother,Gloria Davis, his sons, Shane Karter and his wife Melissa, Aaron Karter, Sr.,Jordan Black, and Jared Black, his sisters, Donna Karter Bouterie,  Suellen Buckley, and Reneé Champagne, his grandchildren, Aubrey and Reese Karter, Clint Karter,  Aaron Karter, Jr., Maddox Black, Allie Black,Ariel Black and Soloman Black. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Edward Karter Sr.  

A Visitation for Alvin will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula. A Memorial Service Celebrating Alvin's Life will immediately follow visitation at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
