Alton Husser, known as âToonâ or more affectionately by his community âOld Manâ, was welcomed into the arms of The Savior on August 28, 2021. He was 67.
Alton, a proud resident of Loranger, Louisiana, was born September 4, 1953, in Independence, Louisiana, to Simon & Audrey (Monier) Husser. He was the oldest son of their seven children.
Alton graduated from Loranger High school while serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He served 11 years before he was honorably discharged as an E-6 Sergeant. During his service, he attended MP school where he later graduated as Military Police from Ft. Devans in Massachusetts. From there, he was assigned to 1 of 5 Honor Guard teams that performed military funerals. Alton served 4 years in active duty and the remaining 7 in the reserves as an MP.
 Alton is survived by his children, son, Andrew Thomas Husser; daughter, Fallon Husser Canal (Leighton); and son, Austin Bryce Husser (Jessica). Also surviving are his siblings, Julia Grace (Dewayne), Clara Crowe, Dale Husser (Sherrijean), Janet McDonald, and Sammy Husser (Donna) and many nieces and nephews. Altonâs grandchildren and the lights of his life: Bentley, Colston, Beck, Cuyler, Sienna, and Cara. In addition, his precious sweetheart, Barbara Poolson, her children, and her grandchildren, who he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his father, Simon; mother, Audrey; and brothers, Simon Jr. and Delbert.
Family and friends are welcome to attend Alton's Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at New Sharon Baptist Church, 57370 Hwy 445, Husser, LA 70442. Visitation will be held from 3:30 pm until the service begins at 5:00 pm and will conclude at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, it is asked that a donation be made to the building fund of New Sharon Baptist Church in Altonâs name.
