Allison B. "Al" Barron

Al was born March 7, 1967, in Metairie, LA to the late Barnard and Margaret Rider Barron and passed away October 5, 2021, in Hammond, LA at the age of 54.  He was the Library Director of Washington Parish Library System, a U.S. Army reservist, a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans, IPMS Northshore Scale Modelers Club, and Forty and Eight, an honor society of American veterans and service members. Al earned his Bachelor’s degree in Education from Southeastern Louisiana University and his Master’s of Library Science from Louisiana State University.  He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Stacie Roed Barron; daughter, Rachel Barron; brother, Clarence Barron (Cathy); and sister, Cheryl Pfeifer.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step mother, Lela Fulmer Barron; brother-in-law, Eric Pfeifer; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Jacksonia Broughton Rider; and paternal grandparents, Perry and Effie Bee Barron.  A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 West Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, LA from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
