Allen Leroy "Bootsie" Jones

Allen Leroy “Bootsie” Jones, 85 died on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at his home in Albany.

He was born in New Orleans on November 14, 1938, to William and Gladys Jones.  He was a graduate of Albany High School and a veteran of the United States Army.

Bootsie is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jackie Jones; son, Chad Jones (Kim); stepdaughter, Angel Smith (Gary); stepson, Jason Doughty (Tina); sister, Essie Kinchen (Jerry); grandchildren, Blake (Gabbie), Brooke, Jennifer, Kainnon, Hunter, Ryder, and Madison Jones; stepgrandchildren, Jordan Hicks, Garland and Brandt Smith, Kaden Hicks, and Jason Todd Doughty (Alaina); and step great grandchildren, Jack and Charlotte Parker Doughty.

Bootsie is preceded in death by his son, Mark Thomas Jones; parents, William and Gladys Jones; sisters, Penny and Mary Lou Jones; and brothers, Willis and Junior Jones.

Visitation will be at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 North Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until services at 12:00 p.m.  Interment will follow in Bankston Cemetery, Albany, with Blake Jones, Parker Doughty, Josh Stewart, Danny Johnson, Willis Jones, Jr., and Ken Easley serving as pallbearers.
