Allen J. Dugas

Allen joined his mother in heaven on March 27, 2022, at the age of 61.  He loved hunting and fishing, and always came out on top with the biggest fish, often making his siblings jealous.  Allen was a momma’s boy at heart who also was a wonderful caretaker to his mother and his lifelong sidekick, Lydia.  He chauffeured her wherever she needed to go, her doctor appointments, visiting family, going to eat at Millside to split their seafood platter, or to the Bingo Hall to spend quality time together.  Now they are together again and are both missed dearly.

He is survived by his siblings, Thelma McCahill, Rose Dugas Sullivan and husband Richard, Louis Dugas and wife Catherine, and Anthony Dugas and wife Heather; uncles, Frances Milton and Jerry Ellenberger, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Allen in death is his mother, Lydia E. Dugas; father, Noah J. Dugas Sr.; brother, Noah J. Dugas Jr.; and his grandparents, Rose and Jacob Ellenberger.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, at 12:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m.  Interment will follow the service in Wadesboro Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home.
