Alice Marie Egan  passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 79.  She was born on Wednesday, April 17, 1940 in Hazelhurst, Mississippi to the late Viola Sellers and Ephrem Grady Lucas Sr.  She was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana for over 40 years.
Alice is survived by her sons, Michael Egan, Jr. of Hammond, John Egan of Sanford, Maine; daughters, Patty Flach (Steven) of Benton Illinois, Laura Harvey (Tim) of Denham Springs, Theresa Core (Brad) of Tickfaw; ten grandchildren, Stephanie, RaeLynn, Emily, Matthew, Heath, Whitney, Alex, Trevor, Megan, and Christian; siblings, Bill Lucas, Sr., Grady Lucas, Jr., Rebecca Powell, Dennis Kitchens, Linda Campbell, and Nell Roberts.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Egan, Sr.; stepmother, Rubezette Lucas; son, Robert Egan; grandson, Gavin Harvey; four sisters, Helen Dugas, Margie Morgan, Ruby Ferrera, and Henrieta Kelly; and two brothers, Jessie Ray Lucas, Sr., and William Kitchens.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammod, Louisiana, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, beginning at 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The visitation will continue the following day, Thursday, March 5, 2020 beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.
The family would like to thank the staff of Camelot Community Center for the compassionate care they provided. They would also like to thank Community Care Hospice for the amazing love and support that was shown to us during our mother's time of need.
