Alfaro A. "Joe" Duplessis

Alfaro A. “Joe” Duplessis II, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Joe was born on Wednesday, October 22, 1941 in Ponchatoula, Louisiana to Alfaro “Static” and Rita Duplessis Sr where he was a lifelong resident. Joe was a member of the US Navy, was employed by Total Heating and Air, and officiated LA High School sports. Joe loved his garden but above all he loved his family and dog, Rosie.

Joe is survived by his longtime companion, Sharon Vicknair and her daughter Jaydeen Stafford (Jesse); his four children, Jean Hutchinson, Gary Duplessis (Susie), Michael Duplessis, and Sherry Duplessis; six grandchildren, Parker Bennett (Keli), Brennan Bennett, Marisa Purvis, Logan Duplessis, Hunter Duplessis, and Heather Hardy (Cody); great grandchildren, Aidan Bennett, Seth Bennett, Lorelei Bennett, and Madelyn Hardy; sisters, Cecile Lea, Judy Monistere (Nat), Mary Wall (Butch), Katherine Juhasz (Joe), Norma Williams (Kenny), and brother Glenn Duplessis also many nieces, nephews and close friends.  

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Alfaro “Static” and Rita Duplessis Sr; sister, Delores Duplessis, brother Phillip Duplessis, former wife Loretta Mike Duplessis.

A Visitation for Joe will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula. A Funeral Service Celebrating Joe's Life will immediately follow visitation at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Ponchatoula Cemetery in Ponchatoula.
