Alex David Picou

Alex David Picou, 43, of Maurepas, Louisiana, passed away on February 25, 2026. He was born on June 7, 1982, in Independence, Louisiana.

Alex proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service as a Staff Sergeant. His commitment, strength, and sense of duty were qualities that defined not only his military career but also the way he lived his life.

Above all else, Alex’s greatest love was his son, Colton Joseph Picou. The two shared a special bond, and Alex treasured every moment spent traveling and making memories with him. His love for Colton was unwavering and evident to all who knew him.

Alex was preceded in death by his beloved son, Colton Joseph Picou; his paternal grand-mother Ann Picou, his paternal grandfather, Dawson Picou, Sr. and step-grandmother, Janice Picou. His maternal grandparents, Al and Sylvia Simoneaux.

He is survived by his parents, Alex Picou, Sr. and Leslie Maria Corona (Greg); his brothers, David Paul Picou, Jonathan Lee Picou, and Justin Michael Simoneaux (Janessa); and his sister, Maegan Maria Picou (Eric). He also leaves behind extended family and friends who will deeply miss his kind, sweet, and caring spirit.

Alex will be remembered for his generous heart and his willingness to help anyone in need. His warmth, compassion, and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 North Morrison Boulevard, Hammond Louisiana 70401, on Saturday March 7 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Maurepas Cemetery.
