Albert A. Oberschmidt Iii

Albert A. Oberschmidt III passed away on Thursday, April 8,2021, in Independence, Louisiana, at the age of 81.  He was born on December 14, 1939 in NewOrleans, Louisiana to the late Albert August Oberschmidt Jr. and the late DoloresMontgomery Oberschmidt.  He was a resident of LaPlace, Louisiana, He was an avid outdoorsman, cook and family man.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nell CollinsOberschmidt; six children Albert A. Oberschmidt IV (Stephanie), Eric J. Oberschmidt(Phylicia), Eve O. LaFountain (Jeff), Hans C. Oberschmidt (Amy), Kristin O.Sullivan (Johnny) and Kate O. Mulkey (Troy); seven grandchildren SamanthaWilson, Shea D’Amico, Payton LaFountain, Savanah Oberschmidt, AugustOberschmidt, Nathaniel Oberschmidt, and Thomas Mulkey; one great-grandchildHazel Jayde Sedotal; and sister Jane Oberschmidt Abadie.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert AugustOberschmidt Jr. and his mother, Dolores Montgomery Oberschmidt.

A celebration of “Uncle Al’s” life will be announced at a later date.
