Adler Oscar Bertrand

Adler, age 87, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Army.  Adler became an Iron Worker by trade, who was also a member in organizations such as the Freemasons and the Shriners.  He was known to be a very hard worker, also for the way he truly cared for people and for his smile that would light up any room he entered.  In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and the great outdoors.  Adler was welcomed with open arms in heaven by his beautiful wife and square dance partner of 31 years, Varel Lea James Bertrand, who passed away in 2016.

He leaves behind his children, Barry Bertrand, Tommy Bertrand (Amanda), Dennis Bertrand (Richard), and Cindy Bates (Steve); stepson, Darren Wasson; grandchildren, Henry Bertrand, Brittany Cockerham (Ben), Ashley Bates, and Hope Wasson; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Capri, Jacob, Maycie, Laiten, and Kandon.

Preceding him is death are his beloved wife, Varel Lea Bertrand; and his parents, Jean and Atille Bertrand; siblings, Ezra Bertrand and Juanita Bertrand; as well as his step-daughter, Denise Wasson.
