Adler Oscar Bertrand
Adler, age 87, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home. Â He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Â Adler became an Iron Worker by trade, who was also a member in organizations such as the Freemasons and the Shriners. Â He was known to be a very hard worker, also for the way he truly cared for people and for his smile that would light up any room he entered. Â In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and the great outdoors. Â Adler was welcomed with open arms in heaven by his beautiful wife and square dance partner of 31 years, Varel Lea James Bertrand, who passed away in 2016. Â
He leaves behind his children, Barry Bertrand, Tommy Bertrand (Amanda), Dennis Bertrand (Richard), and Cindy Bates (Steve); stepson, Darren Wasson; grandchildren, Henry Bertrand, Brittany Cockerham (Ben), Ashley Bates, and Hope Wasson; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Capri, Jacob, Maycie, Laiten, and Kandon.
Preceding him is death are his beloved wife, Varel Lea Bertrand; and his parents, Jean and Atille Bertrand; siblings, Ezra Bertrand and Juanita Bertrand; as well as his step-daughter, Denise Wasson.
